Adult Classes
ACTING BASICS & MORE FOR GROWN-UPS

class taught by Joe & Cheryl Doyle starts October 22.

Have you...

  • ...been acting in the area for awhile, but wish you'd had some training?
  • ...hesitated to audition because you feel you're not good enough?
  • ...thought you'd like to act but been afraid to try?
  • ...been rejected again and again because you didn't fit the part?

Starting in late October, Actors' NET founders Joe & Cheryl Doyle will offer their adult acting class:

ACTING BASICS & MORE FOR GROWN-UPS

You're not a kid, and we won't treat you like one. We will have a good time, but we won't be trying to make theatre "fun" -- you'll be here to learn from the founders of Actors' NET some of what they've learned (and continue to learn) during two lifetimes in the theatre. The basic exercises will be there, but we'll also have speech lessons, audition tips, cold reading techniques, and much more. We'll do scene work and poetry reading. Plus we'll have frank discussions about developing an accurate self-image, knowing your "type" and your chances of going beyond it, and presenting yourself with confidence but without arrogance.

The class will run October 22, 2011 through January 2012 (final schedule to be based on student holiday conflicts), Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm. 10 classes, a full 30 hours plus a night of performances. Call Joe or Cheryl at 215-295-3694 or email actorsnet@aol.com for more information. The fee is very reasonable -- $300 -- and the class is small enough to allow personal attention for all students.
